Privacy Policy

What happens in your house, stays in your house

Your personal information is private

We will never share or sell your contact information or anything about you with anyone. We won't add you to e-mail lists or spam you with texts. We have ADHD, we're more likely to lose/forget your info than give it to someone else. The only records we keep, aside from basic bookkeeping, are notes about your preferences and goals. This information is securely stored and never shared, and uses only first names/nicknames; let us know if you prefer no written records about you. If you want to pick a cool code name for yourself, that's very fun and we will absolutely call you "Rogue One" or refer to your home as "The Possum Kingdom" if you like.

If you prefer to use a secure method of communication like Signal, we're happy to do so. If you give us a key or entry code for access to your home, keys are kept on our person/in our home at all times, and codes are also securely stored.

Your home and your personal business is extremely private

Not only will we not share your secrets, we won't even confirm you're a client. No one will know anything about our work for you unless you tell them or refer a friend. We'll never ask you to give us 5-star reviews in exchange for something.

The items, activities, and messes in your home are nobody's business but yours. If you have a special gardening project or adult playroom in your basement, shocking art on the walls, or unorthodox collections, that's fine. We aren't offended or bothered by anything other than abuse of children or animals, which we will report if we see clear evidence. Please don't hire us if there is active abuse in your home (unless you're trying to escape a dangerous situation, in which case we'll help any way we can). We're focused on cleaning, and rarely take much notice of things unless we think they're cute/funny.

There are only a few situations in which there's any record of personal details about you/your home:

  1. Sonya sometimes takes pictures of areas with many objects, e.g. your bathroom counter, so we can remove items, clean, and put them back in place afterward. This is to avoid misplacing things or messing up your routine. These images are not kept, never shown to anyone else, and we take care to not include prescription information, etc. If you prefer we not do this in your home, just let us know and we won't.
  2. Somtimes we keep notes about your preferences and/or checklists of tasks/supplies unique to your home. This information is usually backed up via Google Drive, but would probably be impossible to understand for anyone but Sonya even if it were hacked and does not include your full name. You're very welcome to ask to see our notes about you anytime to make sure you're comfortable (or if you're just curious).
  3. Woody and I exchange text messages about basic things like appointment times and specific tasks, e.g. "We're confirmed to clean at Lucy's on Thursday at 2pm," or "we need to deep clean the oven next month." Let us know if you have any concerns.
  4. We may mention specific issues anonymously to reassure other clients, for example, "actually, you're not weird at all, about half our clients have a huge pile of amazon boxes somewhere," or "I have seen at least ten kitchen sinks that were dirtier than this." Most of our "gross" stories are not about clients, just things we've seen in commerical kitchens, but it's helpful to let people know they're not alone in their struggle. We will never identify who you are, and are very careful if you are socially acquainted with other clients. And if you prefer that we never mention you this way, we'll respect that.
All other communication about you/your pets/home is verbal with no documentation, and we don't say mean things about you. Occasionally we talk about how cool you are or how your pets are doing. If you don't schedule with us for a while, feel free to send us updates on how you're doing, it's nice to hear from you. We like our clients!

We want you to know you can trust us

If you've noticed that we never reveal our last names, faces or address on this site, don't be alarmed. One of us dated a guy for a couple months who still stalks/threatens her 20+ years later, so we keep a low profile online. If you contact us, we'll happily provide our full names, address, and anything else you want to know. We don't solicit reviews or testimonials because of our privacy policy, but if you'd feel comfortable with a reference, we can arrange that with the client's consent. You are welcome to perform background checks on us, as long as you handle the details and let us know in advance (so it doesn't feel invasive). We'll give you any info you need to facilitate this. We have nothing to hide, we know where our clients live and they know where we live. We perform services in person, there's really not much room for a scam.

If you would feel more comfortable monitoring us with cameras while we clean, we're fine with that, but we ask that you please notify us in advance. This won't change our behavior; we will inevitably forget about the cameras, so don't judge us if we do a little dance while we clean sometimes. It's just less creepy to be recorded with consent.

If there's anything else we can do to help you feel safe and trust us, let us know and we'll do whatever we can do help.
